Rethink the System

Laila and Niki Harré are on a pilgrimage to inspire social change, and are spending February on the road in a quest to explore new ways of living well together. They want to discuss all possibilities, even (especially!) those that seem impossible given our current political establishment, the media, and the narrow field of public debate. In short, they want to be part of a Community Korero on Rethinking the System.

Niki Harré is Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Auckland. Her research interests are in activism, youth development and sustainability. Her book Psychology for a Better World is free to download from here. She has given over 100 talks and workshops to community groups in the past three years on inspiring people to take action for positive social change.

Laila Harré has worked in the trade union movement as a lawyer and leader; politics as an activist, MP and cabinet Minister; and NZ and international public service. She stood for Parliament in 2014 as the Leader of the Internet Party. She speaks widely on a range of topics and is a regular political commentator.
